Instagram overtakes Twitter

Twitter is known as one of the most used social media networking platform in recent times which is mainly used for networking and making connections. The company has over more than 250 million active users currently and it has expanded its global footprints to every region of the world. Moreover, Twitter is thepopular platform when it comes to celebrities and athletes who are most active on any social media networking platform. However, recent news has spread wildly that Instagram has overtaken Twitter in terms of users.
Instagram has hit a major milestone in the company’s history where it overtakes one of the most used social media platform Twitter in terms of users. The company now has more than 300 million monthly active users, sharing more than 70 million photos every day, and an average of 2.5 billion daily likes on different pictures and videos. Hitting such milestone is meaningful for company for many ways.
Hitting the 300 million users mark shows an impressive growth as the number of new monthly active users has totaled more than 100 million since the start of March. Facebook bought Instagram back in 2012 for $1 billion. Hitting the 300 million users mark makes Instagram bigger than Twitter. Twitter has 284 million monthly active users, and a market capitalization of around $23 billion.
CNBC believes that almost 70 percent of its users are based outside the United States who are accountable for the sharing of more than 30 billion photos. Kevin Systrom who is the CEO of Instagram says that “We're seeing a lot of people coming in the fashion world, a lot of people coming in, in the youthful teen’s world, and a lot of people internationally as well.” When he was asked whether the company can go bigger and better maintaining the same performance, he replied this will be a big challenge for him and the company going forward.
This was not the only news that the company had to break, the company also announced to put certified or verified badges on the official accounts of celebrities and athletes and other famous persons in order to avoid spam on your timelines.

Google dethrones Twitter off its perch

Twitter is certainly named as the popular social media networking platform for many years now. Moreover, the company was also known as one of the few best places to work in because of the friendly environment given to its employees. Twitter has achieved various milestones in its short span of time in the industry and being ranked as one of the best places to work was certainly one. However, it was recently found out that Twitter is not anymore the best place to work in.
Google has now dethroned Twitter off its perch as the best technology company to work for in the United States. Apart from this, Google has also topped the United Kingdom’s list of being the best technology company to work for. However, there is no sign of Twitter making its name in the list even in the top 25. Ensuring a balanced work-family environment for its employees has made Google the best place to work on Earth. Twitter was the best company on Earth to work for, for three consecutive years, however, it does not even make it to the list this time.

Many people were concerned about Google’s position in the past years as they were placed sixth and not higher than that. But as the ranking stands for 2015, Google has not only taken the number one spot in the top technology company but it is now the top company overall to work for.
Apart from Google and Twitter, only F5 Networks managed to make its name in the top 10 this year. The rankings of the best technology companies to work for are as follows:
