Dunkin Donuts in Mexico

The coffee shop is increasing its spread in Mexico for higher returns.

The most recent agreement that has been closed down by the American most popular coffee and baked goods chains; Dunkin’ Donuts, involves family-owned Alimentacion Mexico Americana, part of Berny Group, to develop 20 new Dunkin Donuts restaurants in Mexico. The recent agreement covers areas including the states of Roo, Chiapas, Tabasco, Veracruz, Quintana, Yucatan, and Campeche. Through the agreement, the $4 billion company, over the coming years, intends to develop around 150 restaurants in Mexico.
Vice President of Global Franchising and Business Development for Dunkin’ Brand, Grant Benson cited: “Our new franchisee, Alimentacion Mexico Americana, has extensive quick-service restaurant and operations experience in Mexico, and we are thrilled they have chosen to expand the Dunkin’ Donuts brand in the Yucatán region. As we continue our ongoing expansion throughout the country, these new restaurants will satisfy a growing consumer demand for Dunkin’ Donuts in Mexico.”
The Canton, Massachusetts firm has currently been operating at humungous 11,700 locations in 43 countries worldwide. The proposed restaurants of the popular donut brand in Mexico will be offering a wide range of hot and iced coffees, lattes, espressos, cappuccinos, teas, frozen drinks, croissants, donuts, and sandwiches, served under quick and friendly service and at pocket friendly value. Moreover, the brand will also have alteration in the menu such that the available item matches with the tastes of the local residents.
Back in October 2015, the coffee and baked goods brand inaugurated its first two restaurants in Mexico with the congenial collaboration with the group including Mexican subsidiary of Sizzling Platter, a United States and China based franchisee of Dunkin’ Donuts. The foregoing group entered into a franchise agreement having the objective of developing in more than 100 locations in the Distrito Federal, in addition to the states of Hidalgo, México, Morelos, Jalisco, and Querétaro. With the recent news of the company entering into another agreement in Mexico, the brand’s development in the country has only been pacing rapidly. Moreover, it is also noteworthy that back in November 2015, the brand signed a franchise agreement with Grupo CF Del Noroeste to begin the operations of 25 additional restaurants in the areas including Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Durango, Nayarit, Sonora, Sinaloa, and Zacatecas.
The company has been looking for the franchisees which have successful track record in operating efficiently in the restaurant industry. The brand is also looking forward to recruit competent individual who, with their expertise, strong financial background, passion for the brand, in depth knowledge of the communities’ preferences, and intellect can help the company in maximizing its profit from its new venture.
